This year marks twenty years of Battletown Gallery—a milestone that feels both extraordinary and quietly humbling.
What began in 2006 in the old stone coachhouse at Battletown Farm has become so much more than a place to show art. Over the years, it has been a gallery, a studio, a meeting place and, for many people, somewhere to come back to again and again. I have had the joy of meeting wonderful people, seeing paintings find their homes, and sharing in so many conversations around art, colour and the things that make a home feel like your own.
Alongside running the gallery, I have also had the privilege of representing a number of talented artists, helping to share their work with new audiences and find the right homes for their paintings. I have enjoyed consulting with clients on art for their homes and collections, offering guidance on choosing pieces that feel personal and meaningful. I have also been honoured to judge exhibitions for art societies, an experience that has given me the opportunity to engage with a wide range of artists and artwork while supporting and celebrating the creative community.
To mark this special anniversary, I am delighted to present Something Greater, my first solo exhibition.
This new body of work has developed slowly and intuitively. There are layers of colour, movement, stillness and light—paintings that speak of hope, wonder and the sense that, even in ordinary life, there is always something greater at work.
Creating this collection has felt deeply personal. It is a reflection on twenty years of Battletown Gallery, but also a moment to look forward: with gratitude for all that has been, and anticipation for what is still to come.
If you would love you to join me for the private preview on Thursday 19 November please get in touch. The exhibition will then continue for around two weeks.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Battletown Gallery over the years. Whether you have bought a painting, visited for a browse, shared an encouraging word, worked with me to choose art for your home, or simply followed along, you are part of this story.
Here’s to the next chapter.
